Did you know that only 7% of women negotiate their salaries? Or that if women don’t negotiate the salaries, they could lose over $1 million in their lifetime? I don’t about you, but that’s a lot of pesos one could save for a rainy day, invest or even spend to take the trip of thee dreams!
Today is National Equal Pay Day, and President Obama has made an official proclamation that ensures women will receive more for the work that they do. It’s no surprise that our make counterparts make a LOT more than they do, and they aren’t afraid to ask for it. We all know that money is something that can be difficult to talk about, but it’s simply the way of the world. So ladies, it’s time for us to “lean in”, be bold and ask for what we deserve. The workforce as we know it continues to evolve as women take more leadership roles, and it is vital that we are compensated fairly. And let’s face it, if we want to really show them #WhoRunTheWorld, we can’t be afraid to stand up and speak up!
