Happy [belated] birthday Uncle HOV!

To honor Shawn ‘JAY Z’ Carter on his 44th birthday, Vanity Fair put together this pretty awesome infographic of the different luxury brands he has mentioned in songs over the course of his 12-solo album career. JAY covered Vanity Fair’s November issue, so I think it’s rather fitting for the magazine to put together this graphic paying homage to his music, and the luxurious brands that he speaks so highly of. From Gucci to Versace to Nike, it’s no surprise that hip-hop artists are materialistic privy to the finer things is in life. It’s also amazing to see that Mercedes-Benz is the one brand that has remained consistent on all of JAY’s albums, and not to mention the free marketing the company has received over the last 17 years.
